Ernest in My Hometown

Ernest with his mural in Penang |
Street art is a way of developing art in public places. It is definitely different from vandalism. Usually street artist uses the painting to deliver messages whereby people get inspired.
Ernest Zacharevic, a Lithuanian artist, has transformed some old walls across the streets of my hometown, Penang's Georgetown into new looks, with his beautiful mural paintings, in conjunction of Georgetown Festival 2012. These murals captured real life people and the traditional life in Penang.

Futurism
It is one of the important Italian avant-garde art movement in the early 20th century. Futurism embraces the advanced technological changes and tends to demonstrate the beauty elements of modern life, such as the power of machine, speed and energy.
The City Rises was the first futurist work done by Umberto Boccioni. It demonstrates the scene of men labour using the power of horses at a work site. The top right corner of the painting shows the construction of new modern buildings, implicating the energy power and the revolution of a city. Bold emotive colours were applied using quick successive brushstrokes.

The Bird's Nest

Officially opened in June 2008, Beijing National Stadium was designed to serve the purpose of use for 2008 Summer Olympics. This project involved a joint venture among Swiss architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron of Herzog & de Meuron, project architect Stefan Marbach and chief architect Li Xinggang from China while Ai Weiwei, leading Chinese artist, was the artistic consultant throughout the project. The original inspiration came from a mixture of local Chinese art form - the crackle glazed pottery and the Chinese Scholar stones, which was further developed into a web of twisting steel forming the roof - the Beijing Bird's Nest.

Switch
Life is a journey of challenges. Be tough, be positive, be creative.
After years of dealing with numbers, I finally managed to quit my job, and got myself back in the school (again), to start everything like a fresh paper, learning something that I hope I could work them for the rest of my life. It is not easy, but 'yeah', like I am '17' again.
An accountant or a designer? Money or passion? A promising career or a life of unknown? As we age, we tend to think a lot and worry too much, refraining us from taking brave act. Do not forget that, we live only once, just follow your heart, do something that describe the meaning of your life, be yourself, and live happily.
Once again, I tell myself, I will never give up.
